Liesbeth Elberse, artist and creator behind Dark Lemon
I've always loved the dark and fantasy world. When I was 14 years old, my mother bought me my first gothic dress. I was over the moon with that dress!! I painted my nails black and listened to metal. That was the foundation I still rely on today.
When I was 15 years old, I discovered Elf Fantasy Fair. (Now known as Elfia) Oh my.. I was in awe the whole day of all the costumes and the community. I had found my centre and safe place. My first costumes I made, where shit. But as time grew by, I improved my skills and became better and better. I learned SO much! Now, many years later, Elfia is still my favourite event to go to!
I got my degree in Arts in 2002, but I'm mostly a self-taught artist. Every day, I try to improve my skills and learn new things.
In 2022, I suffered from a massive burnout. It was the worst and best experience I had in life. I changed completely and returned to my inner self. That resulted in my small business. Dark Lemon was born. She literally saved my life.
I absolutely LOVE being myself and creating things from my twisted dark mind. I'm a happy person with a very dark heart.
I've got a zillion new creative ideas. So buckle up, and enjoy the Dark Lemon ride!!
